Xavier is a hearing child fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), because he grew up in a Deaf household.

He had to be moved under temporary guardianship with the Jordan family, who are members of Fellowship West Little Rock. Jenni Jordan — who just so happens to know sign language, since her best friend growing up was Deaf — met with Xavier’s teacher for parent-teacher conferences. His teacher had begun to learn ASL to try to help him in class, since he was behind. The Jordans knew God had called them to be the middle family for Xavier while they searched for his forever home, and during the course of the parent-teacher conference, it became clear that his forever home was staring Jenni in the face!
